The Hyderabad Qutb Shahi t-shirt shows the influence of the monuments built by the kings of this dynasty. The geometric floral patterns are inspired by Qutb Shahi architectural elements, specifically Persian windows. Look even closer and you’ll see a silhouette of a runner at the center of the patterns too.
The rulers of the Qutb Shahi dynasty (1512-1687) can take credit for many of Hyderabad’s iconic heritage structures – the Charminar, Golconda Fort, Taramati Baradari and of course the Qutb Shahi Tombs. Early rulers of the dynasty appreciated Persian language, culture and architecture and that influence can be observed in the many buildings and monuments they left behind.
